Smoothies are an essential part of my morning routine, as is a matcha latte or a cup of coffee. So why not simplify your routine?! Lately, I’ve been adding matcha to my smoothies for a caffeine boost and I’m loving it. Thanks to Trader Joe’s, they’ve made it super easy to add as well as control just how much caffeine you consume. This smoothie is everything you’d want from your matcha latte with the added benefit of clean ingredients from your smoothie. It’s the perfect way to start your morning and even better for those on the go!

Ingredients:

1 single serve packet of matcha green tea from Trader Joe’s

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

2-3 handfuls of spinach

1/2 of a small zucchini

1 banana

1 tablespoon coconut oil (or 1/4 of an avocado)

1/3 cup cashews

1 serving of unflavored collagen protein (Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides)

Extras:

4-5 mint leaves

1 tablespoon of chia seeds, flax seeds or hemp seeds

Directions:

  1. To make your smoothie, start by adding almond milk to your blender followed by cashews (this ensures they are blended really well to create that smooth texture!)

  2. Add remaining ingredients to blender and blend on high for 1-2 minutes then serve!
